What this course is
This course provides a practical approach to first aid at sea, where immediate medical assistance may not be available.
It is recognised by the MCA and HSE and is required for many advanced and professional sailing qualifications.

What you’ll learn
- You’ll cover the most important onboard scenarios:
- CPR and use of AED (including drowning protocol)
- Recovery position in confined spaces
- Managing unconscious casualties
- Bleeding control and shock
- Hypothermia and exposure
- Burns, fractures, head injuries
- Medical conditions (heart attack, choking, seizures, etc.)
- Seasickness and dehydration
- How to call for help via VHF
- Preparing for evacuation (including helicopter rescue)
